Well i got my iPod… its cool, cpied all my mp3′s onto it… and its going well.. damn it ssmall and light… very very cool.

Still marking exams, got to finish 110 by Monday, then ill have more to do for another subject, will be good to get them done. Ive gotta do a shit load of timesheets for the uni so i get paid… *sigh*

Found out this morning that i am getting a brand new G4 imac at uni!! possibly one of the flatscreen ones with the superdrive!.. My phd supervisor made a request for it and it came through! yipppee!.. ill be able to burn some of my cool home movies onto dvd!

My mums PC has finally dies, it was an old frankestein machine and its had the dick. So im gunna strip my machine and get some new parts and pass my current PC down to her.. that should be good.. i figure it will only cost about $1000 and we will both have decent machines
So im hunting for which mboard to get, so far its a toss up between an ASUS board or a gigabyte board… its tough..

Its exam week at uni this week, so it wont be long and ill be overrun with exams to mark should be cool though, i think the most ill have to do is 3 subjects, so that should be cool.

I ordered myself a iPod yesterday, 20gig one. I have been looking at it for a while and thought yesterday that id just do it. Why not, cost the same as what i get for marking one lot of assignments, so thats cool. Should get it on Thursday.. yay! It will be neat when i drive down south for my sisters 21st, ill be able to give it a good test in the car.

Went and had a meeting thsi morning about exam marking, and while i was there got asked what i was doing in spring summer semester.. looks like i might have some work then as well Ill wait and see.

Damn its getting hot in rocky at the moment, and its only going to get worse. Summer peaks around december-january so its going to be bloody terrible then. Ive got the aircon running most of the time im at home now. Im usually at uni all day, so i dont really use it that much.

arrrr, gotta go and do some stuff before it gets dark… dammit i almost forgot…

*yawn* I should be sleeping, but i thought id do a quick blog.

Been flat out as usual, marking and so forth. Went out last night with a few friends to the night clubs here. Nothing has changed on that front except that i feel way to old to be going out… isnt that sad ha ha.. really though, its just either really young people who are being idiots or really old overweight people who are out trying to get some attention. hrmmmm But anyway, went out, had a few drinks and some laughs.. it was good. Me being the deisgnated driver was cool, dropped veryone home and got back around 3am. Woke up at 7am this morning for some reason and couldnt get back to sleep.

Had a fea LAN games tonight with a friend, played some UT2003 which is really sweet.

I got the vpn program tested on friday, and it worked ha ha, damn its cool Im just going to make a few adjustments and then hand it over to them for official testing. Once thats done ill put my timehseet in and wait to get paid *rubs hands thinking about cool iPod to buy*

Also finished marking / moderating everything that was outstanding from the last few weeks. Feels good to get it done. All ive got left is some exam marking, which should be ok.

ok, bugger it.. that will do.. im off to have a shower and grab some shuteye…

So ive been going to a thesis writing workshop the last few days, i had gotten emails about it for a few weeks and was meaning to sign up for it but i just plain old forgot… anyhow, one of the other students in the postgrad room at uni was heading off around 10am on monday and i asked where she was going and she said the thesis thing so i packed my shit up and tagged along.

But it was cool, i got there and said my name wasnt on the list cause i forgot and everything was cool. Well the first thing i notice when i walk into the room was that i seemed like a baby in there, the rest were older people… i looked around and decided to just sit near Melanie – one of the other students in the post grad room.
The good news is that they gave out a free book! yay!… and then everything went downhill… my attention span lasted about 10 minutes…. but the book was worth it. About half way through (after athe free lunch) we moved into the other lecture room with comfy chairs.. so thatw as a bit better….

So thats what ive been doing, plus marking whenever i get a chance. I have like 50 billion gazillion things i need to get done this week…. ha ha, but shit happens if they happen to spill over into next week. Ive almost got all the assignments marked.. Gotta do up a time sheet somtime tomorrow and claim for all this work! Ive got my eye on a sexy iPod.. hrmmm 20gig of apple mp3 player goodness *rubs hands together*, plus it would be cool for the trip i have to take around november to go to newcastle for my sisters 21st birthday. hrmm somthing to consider.

So things are going great… ive got lots of work keeping me busy and meeting lots of people. My phd is going ok, i figure its not going to all happen straight away, ive got 8 years of part time study. I started looking around and sent some emails to my supervisor and he seemed happy so its all good.

Still havnt heard about the possible job at the uni… ill wait and see with that one. In the mean time ive got lots to keep me busy.

So thats it… *sigh* another wholesome blog entry…

Ive been playing around with MySql lately, managed to get it running and setup on my linux box, also got phpMyAdmin working, makes it so muche asier to do stuff , all i have to do now is start playing with php a bit more.

I got aksed to submit my resume for a sys admin type job at the uni on friday. It sounds pretty cool, so i emailed my resume off. If i get it ill have to reorganise my marking and stuff. I might have to give some of it away to fit it all in

Im still writing exams for uni as well, got the draft looked at and it is cool, just have to make some modifications and see the lecturer next week. Im also still marking, but i dont have many this time, which is good

Got a call from my ex, weird things going on there again. She asked if i tutor her for the computer graphics exam coming up soon. I had a good think about it but then gave it a miss, its not worth the trouble it will cause considering what is going on. For some reason her new boyfriend seems to think i gave him a lift one day and told him all this crap about her, which is a total crock of shit, i wouldnt know the dude if i walked past him, ive seen him twice and thats it. He also denied coming round to see me… weird, considering i had someone staying here at the time that saw him as well. sheesh… lol it just gets better and better by the month damn i should write a book.

There seems to be noone on ICQ lately, i dunno why. It goes in spits and spats really. At the moment the icq conversation is very slow…. *sigh* If anyone reads this and uses icq – send me a message sometime for a chat – 55176979 – thats my icq number… dont be shy

What is the point of having a blog?, hrmmm really there is no point, except that it is a place where i can write stuff just for the hell of it. I think it will be good to look back on later as well. Some people probably think it is weird, but i cant see why. I find that i think about things better if i write them down. Things make more sense if i put it in writing, makes me think about what i am actually writing about.

Made a bad stuff up today, realised i was meant to keep a log of the marking result i did for computer graphics. The problme is that i realised this after i had taken them back and they had been returned to the students *eeekkk*. Anyway, i was a bit worried, but shot and email to the lecturer and he said it was cool, he will just get them to return the marking sheet with their second assignment. easy. And here i was getting worried.. Just goes to show that things arnt as bad as they seem

Not much else is going on. Im heading to Newcastle in november somtime for my sisters 21st, should be cool.

yup, i think about it a lot. The whole “what am i here for” question… and in the end, after pondering for what seems like an eternity, i always come to the same conclusion… I DONT KNOW.. yep, thats it… thats all i can come up with.

hrmmm I kinda reckon that things happen for a reason, and in some way everything that happens was meant to happen and everything that is going to happen, will happen, no matter what you do. Your decisions are the things that determine the path you take, but your going to end up at the same place in the end… that one point where your meant to be… gawwwdddd

I wrote my first exam today, well draft exam anyway, Ive got a meeting on wednesday to show them my draft. Hopefully it will go well. Im not 100% sure yet how to allocate marks, but hopefully that will get sorted out on Wednesday.

anyway, back to the topic at hand. I feel like im not in the place im meant to, but what i am doing now (in most ways) relates directly to the big picture. The whole PHD thing is still up in the air for me. Its going no where, its boring, and my motivation just isnt there. Really there is no point me doing it. I know i am not going to be a hard core academic at any time, so really there is no point. Its 8 years… count em.. 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8… yep 8 years of study, to get somthing that really i wont use. Id be better off doing somthing that is going to be useful later on. I guess i need to think about it, but the time will come where i have to make the decision…. Its been about 2 months already, and really i havnt done a great deal. Ive read and everything and discussed some stuff, but its like fighting an up hill battle, and it shouldnt be like that. hrmmm damn i hate that.

bleh – im working on a new website…. it should be pretty neat i think.

woah, its almost been a week since my last blog. hrmmm what has been happening…

Ive got uni work running out my ears.. geez. Lots of marking and stuff, subject cordination etc etc. I finished marking computer graphics this morning. I woke up around 6am, cause the fella that was staying up here was leaving. Anyway, i was going to go back to bed but i though ‘bugger it’ and marked instead. Got them all done and took em out to uni. Aomthing else i can mark off the ‘to do’ list.

Uni network speed is amazing now, they put a new switch.. 100meg / sec is some sweet download speed. I lined up Redhat 8.0 to download (3 cd’s) and the first one came down in about 20 mins! dang!… that reminds me, i need to go out and get the off the harddrive.

Wiped away my XP box today (again), damn thing was playing up, but i think ive found the problem. I updated the VIA 4 in 1 drivers for the motherboard and things are looking good. Made a ghost image as well, damn i liike ghost… theres somthing about taking 10mins to have a machine completely installed that appeals to me.

Went to yepoon again today, checking out my mates bathroom. He finished it off last week (grouting and stuff) and its looking pretty good.

I dunno what ill do tomorrow, hrmmm

*sigh* – i read some stuff from some site about the political crap that web people get into. There is like this totally different culture out there that i never knew existed.. sheesh, and i thought i was boring bleh… that doesnt make sense cause i dont have the article to link to…

There were bull sales up here last week. One sold for $55,000… yup 55K, 55 big ones… 55 with 3 zeros after it… a new monaro with change! for a cow.. or technically a bull .. hrmmm

Ive decided im going to start taking my camera with me and take some random pictures. I dunno yet what ill do with em, but we will see.

Im still working on my ‘new’ webpage design. Should have somthing done soon…
