Hrmmm, back at uni again. Went to the caves just out of rocky today. Ive been in rocky for 5 years and never been there! It was cool!. Went with Nick, Sarah and Melanie…. we did the normal walking through thing. Found out they also do adventure tours where you can crawl through little gaps and stuff, so we might be doing that… that would be cool!

I must be sleeping crooked or somthing, my neck has been sore… dammit… oh well, one of these days it will straighten up again.

Got some new games, been giving Splinter Cell a thrashing, its not too bad. You need a lot of patience for that game. The graphics on it are neat though! bloody amazing!. I also found out today that the reason my computer was crashing when playing cimcity was because i had the A-A and stuff turned up high on the video card settings, when i turned it down it worked! yay!. I still have the problem of random crahsing, but im almost certain its the video card now and drivers. It did it today when i had the setting cranked up hrmmm somthing to invetigate further at some stage.

Well im done with this, for some reason safari wouldnt let me log into blogger tonight.. so im using crappy IE… oh well

Time to go home… im tired

Movie kicked arse!!! Bloody good! I have to say it had some of the most graphic ‘people dyeing’ scenes i have seen, made me flinch… but damn it was good!

Basically about the whole ‘everything happens for a reason’ theme. Im a big believer in that so i was sitting there lapping it up. I enjoyed it a lot. There were a lot of little messages and stuff in it as well which were cool. *sigh* I liked it a lot.

There were 9 people (including me) there. Which was cool. There were a guy and a girl sitting in front of me, and for some reason the guy ‘dissapeard’ for half the movie. :S im guessing he was laying with his head on the girls lap or somthing *ponders* but i dont really know. Cant say ive ever seen that before *shrugs*

But it was cool. Now ive just had a shower and im sitting watching the cricket and playing on the internet. Im looking up the specification for the IRC protocol. Lots of info on the web for it. I think i might make an IRC client. hrmmm i dunno… could be tricky but could be cool.

Its raining on the cricket, Australia have some ridiculous score 2 for 359 or somthing, bloody india have no chance, they have 3 for 103 after around 17 overs *shrugs* *yawn* frig its boring, and the damn commentators just ramble on with shit. I guess there isnt much more for them to talk about…. *sigh*

bugger this, i think ill go to bed. At least that is interesting… :S

Yep, its sunday, and im sitting at uni again. Not doing much, spent all day writing an exam. Its just about done. got a meeting tomorrow about it so ive got enough done for that.

Thinking about heading to a movie at 9:30, havnt been by myself for a while and it will be cool. Sun days are usually really quiet especially at the late movies…. *loves late movies with no other people in the cinema*.. so yeah, might go check out ‘final destination 2′ *shrugs* why not!

Went to yepoon last night with melanie, nick and sarah. We were all doing nothing else so hooked up and went to get some funky chips at the beach. Tried out the ‘cheese chips’ and they wernt too bad. The dude overcooked the chips, but they were ok. After thet we checked out the beahc, they have just redone it all and its cool. Drove back to rocky and went to cactus jacks for dessert. We were told that the chocolate nachos are really cool, so we tried and and they are GREAT!!!! hrmmmm chocolate… *sigh* I had a bit of a gut ache afterwards but the gut ache was soooo worth it.. damn it was good.

Been looking at the prog A lecture slides and to be honest they suck. I think i will start redoing them. Managed to ‘find’ a copy of Keynote so im going to have a play with it. If its good ill buy a copy i reckon. But yeah, the slides bite so i think i should make em look fancy and take my powerbook along and fire it up… that would be cool.

Been talking to a fella about Cocoa programming, he is interesting in learning so im giving him a hand. It would be cool if we could do some kind of project together. Im trying to think of what we could do. I have a few ideas ill just have to wait and see. He is in the prog A class i lecture and is another mac person yay!

*sigh* I had grotty oily fish for tea tonight and its coming back to haunt me.. icky…

Tomorrow is another week. Just got the meeting in the morning and the lecture in the arvo and thats it. Ill probably do some playing around with cocoa in between or somthing.. *shrugs* who knows..

bleh righto, time for me to pack the little powerbook up and head to the cinema… yay! Damn i like going to the cinema… going with other people is cool, but a solo mission is good every now and then…

Just updateing my ipod at the moment, copying over another 4gig of songs. Gotta fill it up somehow.

Got a copy of the programs i lost when my ibooks was stolen, which is good. I can get back to doing stuff again. Been playing round with project builder again. Trying to learn cocoa stuff again. Its slow, but ill get there.

Uni stuff is going ok. Im trying to get a copy of the source code that i need to do my PHD, bit hard when you dont know the cvs server to log into. *sigh* Oh well, one day ill get it.

Not much else is going on. Gotta wait to watch the news tonight to see about the announcement by gearge bush. Of course australia will follow the US, i mean its important for Australia to remain ‘chummy’ with the US. bleh…. oh well..

So what do geeks and nerds do on sunday night? Well they sit at uni on the internet and playing tetris clone games.

Yup… Im at uni again. Sitting on the net doing basically nothing at all. Meanwhile melanie is in her little booth playing some really dodgy tetris clone that she insists is ‘really good’ – and even better if it had sound… hrmmm riiiiiight. Oh well, its keeping her occupied.

So yeah, played with some Cocoa today. Finally can get back into it again with my new powerbook. I was annoyed at how much i had forgotten *sigh* Ive really gotta go back and re-read my cocoa book again. Wont take as long to read again, but i need the refresher. its been so long since i did any cocoa programming *sigh* Damn the person that stole my ibook. Also realised that the only copy/backup of my sportsdraw program was on my iBook and on a cdr that was also in the bag that was stolen. dammit. So i have to make another start on it.. again… *sigh* will it ever get finished????

This week coming should be a bit less hectic. Exam marks have all been completed and settled. All ive got to do is the usualy programming A lecturesa nd tutes and stuff and also write some exams for that other subject. Should be ok.

I washed my car today. it had crappy tree sap shit all over it. Damn stuff wouldnt wash off so i had to use the bug and tar remover stuff to do it. But oh well, my car is clean again for another week or so.

bleh righto, im done here…. i think ill go distract melanie and see if i can make her lose her game….

Back at uni again, Just got back from yeppoon. Went and saw Ivan and Jeab and had a chat. Also hung around for tea, which was another one of jeabs brilliant dishes…. man it was good.

Sooooo im sitting at uni again, not much else to do, but that suits me just fine. So far noone else is online so there isnt even anyone i can chat to. Im just trying to type without looking at the keyboard and im actually going ok.

Ive got lots i want to blog about but dunno where to start… hrmmmm I dont get it when people try to make everyone else happy at their own expense. I mean sure… i like doing things for people to help them out, but there is noway i am going to do something that i DONT WANT to do…. am i silly or what? Im kinda amazed at the whole ‘try to make yourself feel good by doing what other people want’ way of thinking…. bleh… righto, time to move on…

Blogs are cool, you can vent and discuss and stuff by yourself without anyone else. Even when the rant is about noone in particular. *sigh*

Hrmmmm sitting at home, just got the boot so im sitting at my desk trying to do some java stuff for my PHD. Gotta make a secure digital key/certificate, but the instructions arnt working, or they arnt clear enough for me to undertand how to do it right. hrmmm eitehr way it isnt working.

So yeah, last night watched a movie with Melanie and Nick, that was cool. Somthing to do i guess.

Ive come to the conclusion that its best to just plan for yourself, forget about everyone else and just do your own thing. Make no plans, make no decisions regarding other people, that way you wont ever be let down or disapointed. I guess in a way, following that thinking could also land you at home by yourself doing nothing, but hey… who cares.. right?

So i rekon thats what ill do, Ill probably sit at home for a while and later this arvo go to uni and stuff around / do some work. Tomorrow i think ill go for a drive to the beach or somthing.. who knows.

So i had a meeting abour writing exams yesterday, went ok. Just gotta sit and start typing the questions up and organising the marking scheme. I just gotta get in the mood. Im meant to have a meeting again on monday, but it doesnt really matter if i dont get anything done. She said it was ok.

Im getting a bit hungry, but not really in the mood for eating….. thinking about lots of stuff and so forth, which i tend to do every now and then. Sorting things out and i guess in a way planning. hrmmm who knows.

Next week there is some ‘casual/part time staff’ get together/meeting at the uni i have to go to. Its paid so thats alright, but i get a feeling its just going to be filled with useless bullshit and stuff. hrmmm i guess its a good chance to meet otehr people in the faculty, but in a way i already know enough…. bleh…. *picking up any negative vibes here people…*

Its damn hot today, the sun just starting shining really brightly, makes everything look colorful and stuff. Good thing i have my air con going, keeps things a little less hot.

anyway, im gunna stop this and do some more thinking… things to sort out and take care of – and things to just think about.

So i got my powerbook back, and its fixed So hopefully it will last a little lonegr then the few days it did before.

Finished off the exam result coallation, which is cool. Also managed to score some more work writing exams, so thats sweet.

Saw soem kickarse silicon graphic 3D video projection stuff at the uni the other day, very very nice. amazing to see. Also just had a look at the accessgrid setup at the uni, amazing, streaming in video from sydney and it was smooth as. Very very cool geeky stuff.

Dunno what ill do tonight, probably sit at uni and get into some java for my phd stuff. Will finally be able to do it with my powerbook…

Cricket is on tonight, so im guessing melanie will be watching that… crazy girl.. cricket crazy lol

Sitting at uni… again… bored.. but i dont mind being bored at the moment. Cant enter exam results into the spreadsheet cause the damn server is down..

Went and saw ‘the recruit’ last night, pretty damn good. Not bad at all. I should be getting some dvds back off jason tomorrow, which will be cool since i havnt watched them yet… *sigh* hrmmm…

So thats about it, went and ate chinese food earlier with melanie, she got some hair brained scheme to have deep fried icecream, and the next thing i know im sitting in a chinese restaruant eating food.. Its wasnt too shabby either. We then headed out to uni, which is where i am now, not much else going on. Uni is always good for something to do.

eeee gawd…. once again im out at uni.. its a damn sunday the sun is shining and a perfect day to be lulling under a tree somewhere and im stuck inside marking damn exams… Ive got a small pile to go and my brain is gone… arrr i hate that…

So yeah, thats my life for the past week, marking damn exams..

I should get my powerbook back next week. I found out that teh firmware got corrupted :S but as yet apple havnt released the firmware updator for the new 12inch powerbooks, so im getting a new logic board installed. *sigh* Should be interesting, the local dude here is doing it, says he hasnt installed a logic board in the new powerbooks.. so i guess mine is the guinea-pig :S

Anotehr week is coming up, ive gotta read through the lecture slides before tomorrow so i know what im meant to be talking about :S, should be ok, i think its going to be on repetition – simple examples and such, so that should be ok.

ARRRRRR righto, im going to put in one last ditch effort to get these exams done!!!!

So the first week is almost over. Lecturing is going well, i guess it comes down to the fact that i have to do it so i do. Its not that tough, and it helps actually knowing what im talking about.
The tutes have been kinda cool, helping everyong out. Already had someone ask in the tutes if they could install IRC and download movies through the internet… what can i say to that? of co0urse i said “of course yout can” – “but you might get busted”. The young fella looked at me and didnt know what to say. Then off he went to download an IRC client lol

Its amazing to find that some young people dont know about the internet, or email and stuff… i thought most schools would have it know, or maybe even most homes, but ive had a few people that havnt used email before.. bizarre

Went to mcDonalds the other day.. Melanie has this value meal card thing where you get every 10th meal free.. anyway we went there, i was gunna buy one and get hers for free… sooo we did, went to pay and the girl behind the counter has asked which meal we like to pay for, and i was – well whats the difference, and she said well one is dearer… yup.. “one is dearer”, now am i totally weird, or is it common sense that everyone is going to want to pay for the cheaper one and get the dearer one for free..huh? So ive looked at the chick, looked at melanie, looked back at the chick and said ummmm id like to pay for the cheaper one, and the chicks gone… ok… yup, im not kidding here… now is that chick stooopid or what? Was she expecting me to say? .. umm id like to pay for the dearer one oh and heres and extra $5 just cause i want to give money away.. :S sheesh… *sigh – gawwwwwd*

Still marking fricken exams.. getting through then, just taking a coke break and filling out my blog between exams. I know ill get em done by monday so thats cool. *think of the money – the money dammit*

Im looking forward to actually starting some programming in the lectures and tutes/labs, that will be cool. So far all the students have been good.

ohhhhhh my powerbook died… yup its back at the shop… tried to wake it from sleep yesterday morning and it reset, and gave some crappy “you need to restart” message, then freezes during startup. Tried starting while resetting the power manager and it boots, but the minute it goes to sleep or restarts it craps itself again. Did all the hardware tests and everything is ok, so it must be somthing bad wrong with it. Oh well, just means im without a powerbook for a few more days, ill probably just get a new one. yay!

Got a meeting tomorrow morning with the head of school about the subject im lecturing, i think its just a check up me on type thing to see how im going. Also got a meeting with my PHD supervisor for some stuff, gotta get some stuff started, but that will suck without my mac…

hrmm anyway, back to marking… now where did my iPod go…
