After getting my mobile switched over to AAPT a few weeks ago, ive had basically no service at all. It was constantly shifting around from 0 bars up to 4 bars. If i did manage to make a call the person on the other end had all sorts of trouble even hearing me.
This got annoying so i called em up and they tried to blame my handset, even though it worked fine with Optus. Anyway i called em back again today and was told i had to pay out the contract if i was going to cancel it. This kinda pissed me off cause i was even getting the service i was paying for.. anyway to cut the story short, rang the complaints section and mentioned the dept fair trading and instantly the contract is cancelled like i originally wanted.
So they are sending me out a package to send the sim card back – which suits me just fine.
5 mins after talking to AAPT i was on the phone to Virgin who signed me up no problems – sim should arrive Tuesday. Im more confidant with Virgin cause they use the Optus network.
So yeah, i dunno why companies screw customers around, theres no way its my handset yet that first wank at AAPT wanted me to send it to brisbane to get tested – meh, like hell. The second bloke basically said i couldnt do squat except pay out the contract – even though the service i was paying for was not up to scratch – sheesh.
So im going with Virgin, the company i had originally planned on going to after my mobile came out of contract with Optus until an AAPT bloke came to the door and gave me false hopes.
Good points about Virgin:
* Use the optus network, i.e. same coverage i ahd with optus.
* $15 a month with $30 with of calls/sms etc
* Discount if i pay with a virgin credit card, which ill have once i pay the other one off and apply.
* $25 credit for getting anyone else to try Virgin and mentioning my account number.
So far so good.
