SpotLight is for indexing and searching for everything on your computer. I think only enabling applications would take away a lot of what makes spotlight great.

e.g.
Last night i was writing and email to Melanies aunty. I couldnt remember her email address so i just typed her first name into spotlight and instantly it found all emails i had received from her in the past. I did the same for her mum and dads email addresses as well. If i was to do that without spotlight i would have ahd to manually search through mail.

Set the preferences to make it just search for applications…I think thats what i’ll do as i don’t have much on my computer that i’d want to search for document wise. Brett can show you how to do that

how come spotlight has to load EVERYTHING on the computer with whatever i type in the box. it takes soooo long to load. just the applications would do… launchbar was much faster.
